Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread: Food, Jobs and Justice

Updated: Jun 4, 2020

In view of the coronavirus pandemic, St. Aedan’s Migrant Center (SAMC) this year is focusing on three areas: food, jobs, and justice. A new Community Garden being constructed at 128 Glenwood Avenue is part of this strategy.

In this Community Garden, SAMC is planting hundreds of vegetables, herbs and flowers. The food will be distributed among immigrant families in the community.

We invite the St. Aedan’s community to participate in this project. We need volunteers to help us build the garden beds, and later to maintain the plants by watering and weeding. For more information or to volunteer, please call 732-319-9533.

We are grateful to James Lee for designing the garden; to Geoffrey Leigh, Liam Leigh, Maria Maderal, Gustavo Paz, James Lee, Anne Malloy, Pascaline Assali, Gwladys Boukpessi, Kieran Halloran and Cathe Tansey for working on the garden along with Fr Hyatt and Fr Rocco this past week; and to Geoffrey Leigh for preparing this video.
