Pope Francis has invited the Church throughout the world to enter into a two year re-examination of the way the Catholic Church is listening to and walking with its parishioners. He is calling this special journey for the Church a Synod on Synodality. You will find special prayer cards at the doors of the church to prepare us for our listening and sharing as a parish. In the little red buckets are the prayer cards in Spanish and in the blue ones prayer cards in English.
Due to a recent spike of COVID positive cases in Jersey City related to Omicron and out an abundance of caution for Joy and the senior Jesuits living in the rectory, St. Aedan’s parish office will be closed for in person business for the coming weeks. People can reach Joy by phone or email and also network with Fr. Rocco after weekday and Sunday Masses. We also ask that the faithful remain masked throughout all Masses at St. Aedan’s regardless of vaccination status until further notice. Thank you!
We will celebrate our annual Mass in honor of the Santo Niño next Sunday, January 9th at the 1 p.m. Mass. We invite everyone to bring their home Santo Niño’s to the Mass and place them on the altar rail for special blessings during the Mass and for the New Year of 2022.
We are holding a special donation drive to support Afghan refugees at Joint Base McGuire—Dix –Lakehurst from Thursday through Sunday, January 13 to January 16. Please see the bilingual flyers at the doors of the church for further details on times and items needed by the refugees. We are collecting only the specific items requested by the base. Volunteers are needed to collect and sort during the stated times. Flocknote has been set up to allow people to sign up to volunteer in 1 or 2 hour increments. El Papa Francisco ha invitado a la iglesia en todo el mundo a entrar en un discernimiento de dos años enfocado en como la iglesia Católica escucha y camina con sus feligreses. Llama a este viaje especial de la iglesia un Sínodo por una iglesia sinodal. Para prepararnos a escuchar y compartir como una parroquia, por favor encuentre tarjetas de oración especiales en las puertas de la iglesia.
